Pakistani Christians
One group of Pakistanis that is watching with some skepticism about whether next month’s elections will affect them are the country’s Christians – about one percent of the population, or one and a half million people. Many are poor and marginalized, and live in slums, and some have been targeted for Islamist attacks. They say they’d like to see a more tolerant Pakistan – but they don’t see next month’s election bringing that dream any closer. The World’s Mary Kay Magistad visited a Christian slum in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
