I've been on a licorice kick recently....


These a so good! They're spongy and have a good licorice/molasses flavor.

    I've been looking for a shop here in Los Angeles that carries those. I might have to order from the internet (or buy some in SF next week).

    Cybele, I found a place in Philly that had them but I didn't buy them there. They were much cheaper at I suggest you take a peek, I found their service to be very good. :)

    I think they are originally Dutch and we call them griotten. They look kind of like brown sugar cubes on the outside but they are actually quite soft and the taste is very much licorice!

    Licorice is drop in Dutch ... thought you might want to "explore" the world of dropjes and griotten a bit further ... maybe ...;-)
