simpler pixel graphic tess
while folding the Townes Van Zandt tesselation I remembered the jungle camouflage by yureiko. this is the first pixel graphic tess I've ever seen. the convention then was also when I got hopelessly hooked on tesselations.
anyway, yureiko's idea is simple but truly ingenious: just use flattened and unflattened triangle twists as pixels. I thought that this should also be possible with square twists, and of course that's the case.
this pixel tess is much simpler to fold than the other, it's also faster. and I 've got a feeling the the graphic is better visible. your choice of paper isn't as limited either, any paper should work. plus, you can also do pixelization by triangles instead of squares (see yureiko's model) which might give you some smoother curves.
on the other hand you don't have the cool effect of creating the inverted image on the back.
