watering fujimoto's garden - extended grid ideas
pretty soon after folding this big hybrid grid I'd already forgotten how I did it. so next time that I needed something similar I had to work it all out from scratch again. to avoid this experience from now on I've made myself some notes on the folding sequence to get the crease pattern you see here. I think it's a nice way to put 7 molecules into a square without wasting too much paper.
for what it's worth I thought I'd share my ideas with you. so here's a pdf of the folding sequence. don't know if you can use it.
but if you try you should keep in mind that in every step either several lines align nicely or you fold just a short line between 2 points. of course, later in the process often enough there are also lines that you might suppose to align although they really don't. so you'll probably need to concentrate a bit to align the right lines. (I always make at least one mistake in the process.)
after you got here you go on subdividing the paper until you have your desired grid.
