When Autumn Leaves

It's that seasonal transition to enjoy walking in the Autumn colours, I've been taking a lunch hour each day this week to view the sudden changes in my downtown area. Much to my dismay while walking around the nearby neighbourhood streets, I noticed this distraught women filled with dismay that the trees were suddenly changing to red and gold, she said they were "only lush green last week." I explained that if I make a photograph of the happenings, it could potentially last forever.

We talked about an angelic song I replay in my head each September called "Autumn Leaves" by Eva Cassidy. It's a beautiful melody and as we both hummed the verse, Autumn memories flooded back and summer said a gentle goodbye.

AUTUMN LEAVES……by Eva Cassidy

The falling leaves drift by my window

The falling leaves of red and gold

I see your lips, the summer kisses

The sunburned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long

And soon I'll hear old winter's song

But I miss you most of all, my darling

When autumn leaves start to fall
