An example of the Three Sisters method of companion planting. Corn, beans and squash are planted together. The corn stalks provide a "pole" for the bean vines to climb. The beans provide nitrogen to the soil. The squash grow along the ground acting like a mulch to retain moisture and keep out weeds.
