Now here's an interesting comparison shot by Charles Bayliss circa 1888 "WATERFALLS MOSSMANS BAY"

Bayliss' photograph is undoubtedly of the same falls, and Bayliss has stood a bit closer than Henry King.

Bayliss has taken his shot through the "V" formed by the trees. A "V" which has been formed by the removal of the tree trunk in the middle of the "V".

I wonder who cut the tree trunk? Bayliss or King?
