This pic appeared in the Sydney Mail, 19/12/1906 (pp. 1578) in a feature article on the 1906 Sydney Mail/Sydney Morning Herald Prize Farm Competition...this issue of the SM isn't currently available via Google News Archive...my source is the microfilm copy.

The SM doesn't state where this pic was taken...other pics on the page were taken at Delaney brothers' farm 'Lachlan Valley', near Cowra in NSW, and at F.C. Rowlands' farm 'Werribee', also near Cowra. The Delaney brothers were winners of the Prize Farm Competition, Rowlands was placed second. Presumably the pic was taken at one of these two farms, but I've discovered that the Sydney Mail sometimes padded out their feature articles with pics from their photo archive...so pending further info emerging we probably can't be too emphatic re the location. [anyone from Cowra with a camera out there?] The Sydney Mail caption is 'Hay Carting'.

These other pics from the PHM Tyrrell Collection also appeared in this SM article:
