The Cove @ Atlantis
The grand entrance-way of The Cove @ Atlantis just reeks of tropical elegance. It's breathtaking to walk through and an amazing way to start your stay at the resort.
I set out one evening to catch this location without guests, and figured it would be pretty vacant late at night. What I didn't anticipate however was 'tipsy' vacationers come by chat. I had very similar experiences to what Scott Smith encountered while shooting his 'Slice of the Nightlife' shot.
"Oh, do you need a model!?!?!" Was surprisingly uttered many times as I stood beside my tripod politely smiling and doing my best to decline their offers.
One positive thing did happen however. I was approached by a young woman who had her camera in tow who was eager to talk shop. She was just getting into photography, so I did my best to encourage her and offer some tips on how to shoot the scene above (I could have used some of those as well). It was fun to chat with her and see that brand-new enthusiasm for tripping the shutter just starting to take place. I wish her well, and hope her shots came out as stunning as her smile.
Feels so good to get back into the Flickr swing of things. I've been catching up on everyone's streams which is making me even more eager for a return to WDW. I've still got my eye on an early 2012 trip - but first I need to pay off this Bahamas trip. Oy vey is that place pricey.
Have a great day and keep on keeping on ;)
