The built-in shelving was here when we moved in. We removed shelves, put in an electrical outlet on the back wall and installed the TV on a bracket so it can swing out for better positioning. We've done a better job at hiding the cords since this picture was taken. The TV isn't hidden but it's definitely not overpowering this small room the way it could have.

Hi Cynthia, your TV looks great! We want to do the same thing (recently bought a house and it has built-in shelving where we want to put the TV). I was wondering if you drilled straight through the backpanel of the bookcase into the studs, or did you cut away the backpanel first? We have what seems to be ~1/4" gap between the back panel and the wall behind it, and weren't sure if we'd be straining the back panel too much by drilling straight through it. Any advice would be appreciated!
