Curtiss' Milkweed & Friends

The rare, endemic Curtiss' Milkweed (Asclepias curtissii) hosting a Queen Butterfly convention in the Florida scrub!

I had gone to photograph my favorite scrub plant yesterday when I found it covered by as many as 7 nectaring Danaus gilippus! This species is involved in Müllerian mimicry with the Viceroy, several of which were floating about in a nearby willow marsh.
