Minnesota Afternoon Rain Storm

There was a storm this afternoon. It blew in quickly. Sunny blue skies went gray, then started dropping pea to lima bean sized hail. As the hail started to taper off, the rain moved in.

This is a shot of the rain as the storm was at it's strongest here. The hail as almost all melted by this point.

Note: The camera insisted on compensating for the weird light. So you miss the greeny grayness of the light, and the darkness that prompted the street lights to come on at just before 1 in the afternoon. The mic somehow managed to not catch the sound of the thunder but you can see the sky flash.

That's Catrina, at the end of the video, trying to sneak out the door. I'm guessing she wouldn't have gone very far. But I didn't want to have to go out after her with the lightning pretty much right overhead.

I've blogged about the storm in detail here.
