Since the he Mustard plants are in full bloom right now and it was a nice sunny day (one of the few this winter), my friend and fellow sketcher, Richard and I went on a tour of the Alexander Valley, looking for interesting things to sketch. Near the end of out drive, we happened upon an old farmhouse in the vineyards, just off Pitts Rd. in Geyserville, CA. This house must have originally been built in the early 1900's (maybe late 1800's). I only did pencil sketches on-site, then the drawing was finished in the studio due to the rains that came the next day. Moleskin sketchbook, 8.25 x 11.75. W&N watercolors.
