Koeleria macrantha

Prairie junegrass is common in the alpine and subalpine of in the high pass regions of the southern JMT and vicinity (e.g., New Army Pass and Forester Pass). The short ligule, prominent venation of the upper leaf surface, spikelets with two unawned florets, and inflorescence generally of a narrow compact spike are distinguishing of this bunchgrass.
