Will Rogers High School

art deco built in 1938. My school from 1968 to 1971, we will have our 35 year reunion in September.

Located in one of the most beautiful buildings in the City of Tulsa, Will Rogers High School opened in 1939 with a student body of 1,501, a staff of 44 teachers and three office personnel. Students were warned to avoid bad cattle grazing in the campus area while traipsing the footpath from 11th Street (Route 66). The school is the recipient of the Bellamy Award, and noted graduates include Yvonne Harris, Dave Rader, Lee Mayberry, David Gates, Ron Radford, Leon Russell, Gailard Sartain, Susie Hinton (aka S.E. Hinton, author of "The Outsiders"), Anita Bryant and Roger Randle.

Will Rogers was one of 20th Century American's foremost humorists and political commentators. Will Rogers High School hosts one of the district's most innovative websites: www.tulsaschools.org/schools/rogers
