Totoro on the Bridge!!

    Newer Older

Jackie crocheted this amigurumi and also a smaller version as a gift for Rachel. This character is Totoro, a character from the anime, "My Neighbor Totoro." This happy portrait was taken in Island Park on a bridge that goes over the Fox River. The girls are in bokeh in the background.

Rachel's birthday was a success!! In the comments, you will see the cake the girls decorated. Now you see why they insisted on baking in the heat! A store-bought cake just wouldn't do! We had a wonderful day yesterday. Rachel insisted on her cake at 10:30 AM ... there were no complaints! Then we spent the rest of the day shooting photos in several area parks. We topped off the day with dinner at Meson Sabika, a tapas restaurant ... and then took her to the airport. Many tears ...

    Happy Toy-in-the-frame Thursday!!

Your girls are so gorgeous Trina. I love the lit candles reflecting off of Rachel's glasses. The fun had by all shows in all of your images. And I must say, I adore that cake. Sorry the day had to come to an end.

Ok, now on to the super awesome shot of Jakie's hand crocheted Tortoro. (By the way I want one) He/she looks so cute on that bridge and I love how you masterfully lined up the bokeh of your girls with that shadow on the bridge. All fantastic shots :)))

I've never seen the movie (although I'm thinking that I need to borrow it off one of my brothers), but I love the look of Totoro. And Jackie made him?! Wow. I want one. He totally looks like he's saying "cheese!" and I love the bokeh girls in the background. The cake is so awesome too and I just love how you can tell how much fun you have with your girls from pictures like these. :)

Oh, wow. I wish I had one of those. That is one of my favorite movies--along with Spirited Away. And Howl's Moving Castle.
