Helen's - Swinging Neon!

Helen's Children's Wear

4142 Hastings Street

Burnaby, BC V5C 2J4, Canada

This is isn't my camera work but a composite I made from SqueakyMarmot's snapshots of this amazing swinging sign in Vancouver.

Squeaky Marmot's orginal Helen sign 1 and Helen Sign 2

I couldn't wait to see them blended together to recreate the sign in motion.

We've all seen neon that moved (usually revolving) and neon with stop-motion animation but I've never seen neon animated like this. A truly unique find.

Read about the history of Vancouver's most famous neon sign as told by neon artist Laughing Hand McKellar.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Swinging Girl sign is not ready to make her re-appearance on the Heights. Consequently, the celebration planned for this Saturday (Dec. 20) at 1 p.m. will be postponed until the new year.

We apologize for any inconvenience and will certainly let you know when a new date for her installation is determined. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the HMA office at 604-294-9060.
