The former Illinois Central mainline through Mississippi is in pitiful shape today. This crossing here near the Winchester factory is very close to the end of the line, which is a mile or two distant and ends at the fence of the airport, which expanded its runway over the right of way.


The Mississippi Central uses this line today, and usually only stores cars here.

    wow, doesn't even look like you can run locals over that line

    There's a spur to the Winchester Ammunition plant (which is located just behind the trees) that hasn't been used in years. These days, its only used for car storage. Closer to the airport, the tracks have trees growing in the middle of them.
