During my vacation, the motor that moves the lens in and out of my Canon started making noises, and that's a sign that it's about ready to bite the dust. It was over 2 years old and had gotton weathered enough anyway. It made it through the last of my 100 days of summer set, and this afternoon, I got a new camera to replace it.
I've had Sony, Fuji and Canon digital cameras, but I've never had a Nikon... until now. :) I bought a Coolpix S6200 (normally $230 but on sale for $130 at Best Buy) and this is the first picture I've taken with it. I have a Best Buy credit card, BTW, so that's how I was able to afford to buy it so close to my vacation, so don't go thinking I'm rich like Rick and Xavier. :P
One thing, though, I will miss about my old Canon is the 30-second timer. Nikons only go up to 10 seconds. (I'm keeping the Canon in the closet for now because there's still one more picture I need to get for the 112 pictures in 2012 group that requires the 30-second timer)
