Metamorphose | by Pieter Musterd
Back to photostream

P1030392-b "Metamorphose" designed by Escher and (hand)painted by others under his supervision in the GPO the hague, during 1968/1969. The length is 58 meters and it is 1,60 meter high. You cannot catch this in one photo. What you see is just a part of it. This work of Escher is totally unknown to almost 99% of the tourists. There is no guidebook (unknown to me) that mentions it. So pay a visit to the postoffice. Its just in the centre of the city, opposite the Church and the old Town Hall. Kerkplein 1.

His graveyard:

Since januari 2008 this beautiful piece of art has moved to our International Airport Schiphol Amsterdam
