Los Boras

Los Boras: the Bora tribe is not native from the Iquitos area, but from further down stream on the Amazon River, close to the border with Brazil. Some families of the tribe have settled near Iquitos to make their tribe known. They keep their traditional way of life, excepted (some say now doing easy money with tourists) presenting themselves and performing dances to visitors, tourists …up to recently for free, but now with quickly increasing (highly negotiable) “fees”. They also propose their traditional products, blow pipes, collars, etc. The number of families moving from their traditional place to this one, near Iquitos has also increased considerably recently.

Nearby is another tribe, the Yagua tribe.
