Common Buckeye Butterfly...

..feeding on Fleabane, and best viewed in the large size.

Good morning. Today's posting are my first good shots this season of a Common Buckeye Butterfly (Junonia coenia) taken while feeding on Fleabane. I haven't seen many Buckeyes this year with this being only the third one I spotted so far. And like the Common Whitetail Dragonfly, I'm not sure why it's called a "Common" Buckeye since it's the only Buckeye Butterfly in North America and is one of the most beautiful butterflies we have.

Thank you for visiting....and I hope you have a truly wonderful day.
