Before Rome, Before Bhudda, Before Jesus Stood This Tree

    Newer Older

This is one of the most contorted Bonzai Bristlecone Pines on the walk, and inspired a tear along with the wind and freezing temperatures, to have withstood some 4 millenia while we humans undermine life's very existence. It's not in exact focus, because without a stabilizing bar my Canon couldn't be held steady in the wind and no tripod was taken along.

Thanks Ray, I'm still a little amazed by it myself, but nothing surprises me where Bristlecone Pines are concerned. This one was on Explore a number of times, and might make it back there.

This would look nice in the Renaissance Man (or Woman) group along with the following one. They really are wonderful shots.

I guess the title, maybe, does make it qualify. This one actually has been on Explore for quite awhile.
