Tallinn Christmas Market (Estonian: Tallinna Jõuluturg) is a christmas market held every year in Tallinn, Estonia. The modern Christmas market was founded in 1991 and it is open from the last week of November to the first week of January the next year. This is due to the Julian calendar according to which, the Christmas Eve of the Russian Orthodox church is on 7 January.
The Christmas Market is organised on the old Town Hall Square. The old town has the jubileum illumination. The Tallinn Town Hall is the oldest medieval town hall in Northern Europe which still exists. It was built in the 15th century.
Handcrafts, hot wine and souvenirs are sold on the square and there are many restaurants in the old houses around the square. About 200,000 visitors go to the Jõuluturg every year.
