This was a total collaboration. Susan and I were trying to take full advantage of the setting sun. The light was an incredible golden colour in the late evening. We carefully positioned her to block the sun from the camera and let the light wash thru her hair and then lit her face with a soft box and beauty dish. We analyzed shot after shot on the camera LCD until she started to get tired. We had been shooting in this light for a couple of hours already plus having wandered around the Milton Pirate Fest all day long.
I tellyawat. Susan is one helluva model as well as a great photographer. We both learned quite a bit about portrait lighting from this little exersize.
