DB985730_1105_Quorn

DB985730 is a diagram 1/572 20 ton sleeper and ballast wagon and is one of a batch of two hundred and thirty nine wagons built in 1953 at Shildon works (lot 2483). More commonly know by its engineering department code as a Grampus wagon, three thousand, eight hundred and forty unfitted wagons were built to diagram 1/572 along with two hundred and nineteen diagram 1/572 wagons built with vacuum brakes. DB985730 has at sometime been fitted with vacuum brakes and it is seen here in the yard at Quorn on the Great Central Railway, 22nd May 2011.
