This was shot about 20 minutes before dark using a D700 and Nikon 85mm 1.4G lens: 1/125th @ f/1.6 (ISO 200). To make the subject pop I lit her using a Nikon SB-600 @ 1/8th power positioned camera left and above through an umbrella.

Beautifully done and composed. So dis you trigger the speedlight from the built-in flash on the D700?

    9. Pichead 40 months ago | reply

Thanks for the comments. No, I used a Combi Remote Trigger. I've used the built-in flash of the D700 quite a bit, but I've gone to triggers for the added reach I get. On this shot, I was relatively far away from the flash and the built-in system's success rate would have been up in the air...

nice blur and small depth of field ... the model is very fine popping out. But do you know the timetable for the trains?

Wonderful shot. Just enough blur in the background, yet able to see what's happening there. Great colors and detail on the girl.

The subject really pops. Absolutely perfect shot. Would you mind telling me what kind of umbrella exactly you used. Or better yet, would you show it to me on, say, B&H website? I'd really really appreciate it.
