Deborah-Ivory affair with Essence Crack me! Black

I have never really thought much of crackle polish but then I saw a beautiful mani on flicker by Julia ❤ ℒℯ Vℯrƞis' (here is her flicker photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/a_plena/). Ever since I saw her mani I have been thinking about crackle polish. So the last time I was in the store that sells Essence polishes I picked up their black crackle polish: Crack me! Black.
I didn't use a white base color like Julia did. White polish and I don't get along very well. The white polishes I have are very chalky and stark and I pretty much hate them on me (thinking about it I really should get a new one...)
So I used my Numero Uno of off white polishes: Ivory Affair by Deborah Prét à Porter. I love this polish it is not at all chalky; it can cover in just two coats but I prefer three and it's the perfect off white for my skin tone.
I then chopped a chunk of my kitchen sponge and dabbed it into some crackle polish and then sponged it on to my nails.
I really do love the effect, never thought I would say that about crackle polish O_o. I did experiment a little on my thumb and the less you use the better the effect. So I imagine I will be redoing this mani soon =D
