Summer Fashion Shoot with Emma
I recently assisted a friend on a summer fashion photoshoot along the water in Steveston. We started with natural light but moved to speedlights when the sun started to sink so we could keyshift and pull out the beautiful colors of the sunset.
As the sun was still very bright and our model was backlight, we set up 3 SB-900s on a tri-mount set to SU-4 and used a 4th SB-900 with a radio popper to trigger the 3-light set up. Using the 3 lights also allowed us to shoot at about 1/4 power so overheating wasn't an issue. In hindsight, it would have been nice to have fired the speedlights either through or bounced off a reflector to soften the light a little.
