Comical contrast.

Eisley had a show in Baton Rouge last weekend so we made the trek to Louisiana...Only to run out of gas when we were almost there.

Has anyone ever actually run out of gas? It isn't something that happens often, but if you have a faulty gas gauge...well...You know the story.

As soon as we stopped all of the DuPree men (my brothers and cousin) hopped out of the car to chase an Armadillo that was checking us out.

My husband, as you can see here,

stayed safely away from the wild animals.

I'm glad you guys made it okay to the show, despite the gasoline problem. I was thrilled to see you all there.

I ran out of gas two years ago during the last day of finals at my university... at the busiest intersection on campus. Right smack dab in the middle of the traffic light at University Ave and Johnston (these are streets in Lafayette, Louisiana) at 7:30 am... prime time for morning business traffic. So embarrassing. Thankfully, someone was nice enough to help me push my car into a parking lot nearby and wait with me until my friend showed up with a gas can.

I once ran out of gas at the end of a very long dirt driveway near Carmel Valley, California. I walked all the way down, kicking dust as I went and listened to the sounds of lizards scurrying beneath the ice plants and chamomile patches. An old, beautiful, and weather-worn house stood at the end, shaded by acacias and a weeping willow. A distinguished looking, well-dressed, and very old gentleman answered the door when I knocked. He told me he would drive me into town if I helped him with his errands. I agreed and we set off in his diesel Mercedes. As we drove from place to place, I helped him stay balanced as he walked and carried the bags that were too heavy for him. He told me about his life, the way everything changes, and about the sorrow he felt having outlived his wife. When we were finished, he took me to the filling station and insisted on buying not only my gas, but a filling can to put it in as well. We drove back to my little Volkswagen at the top of his long driveway and he smiled as he said goodbye. I never knew his name, I never saw him again, but I revisit the memory of his kindness every time I see someone in need.

    mmm ... comics.

I was with some friends in New York City when we almost ran out of gas in the Lincoln Tunnel. We made it just in time to coast into a gas station just outside of it after the gas went dry. Whew! I'm still so happy we didn't run out in the tunnel. haha

He looks so peaceful and happy and I love how you can see the "DuPree men" standing off in the back. I've yet to run out of gas while driving, but it'll happen soon because I always wait until the last minute to fill up my tank.

We almost ran out of gas last night. Note to self... always carry wallet even when you don't think you'll need it.

Holy freaking crap... you're from Eisley?? For real? Good lord, I'm unobservant! Haha, that's really awesome. :]

...And yes, I have, once. It was four miles away from the gas station we stopped at. My brother forgot to actually get it. That was a weird trip.

I remember once when I was younger we ran out of gas on the highway. ON THE HIGHWAY! freakin' terrifying. and this was before the age of everyone having cell phones.
Luckily a Good Samaritan helped us out.
I think we were going to Sea World or something.

I ran out of gas once, luckily it was a mile away from a shell gas station and a nice old man picked us up!

I have never run out of gas actually.
The cars I drive in just accidentally always stop because of every reason posssible,
but not running out of gas.
    Huge thing.
    Anyways, I love the picture.
..Love it so much I drew it some time ago and gave it as a present to someone.
Of course, someone who knew the picture.
but what are you gonna do?

Yeah.. I also drew some of your wedding photos.
Max and you turned out to look like.. Cartoon Zombies.
But well, it looked good, so I'm not gonna complain.
