Swans fight for mate-15
I got to Grenadier Pond just when the show began. Here's the scenario, one very large pond, two male muted swans, one female swan that wants to.....well....you know.....with either one of them. One of the males is the steady of the female and the other male is the interloper. The boyfriend owns the top half of the pond. If any other male came near his territory, there would be a fight and i mean a fight. Coming down the hill i could see both swans jump in the air and bash each other with their necks and heads, like giraffes. They would take a run at each other and smash their chests against each other. The interloper would take off and fly about 50 yards away, chased by the other male. You thought it was over, but alas, who do you see swimming very quickly to the males? That's right, that trouble making little hussy! As soon as she gets close to the males, it starts over again, until the interloper finally gave up and fly to the other end of the pond.
