President Schulz visits PM Tsipras
On the 29th of January, EP President Martin Schulz visited the newly elected Prime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, in Athens.
President Schulz expresses his congratulations, and states Mr Tsipras is the democratically elected Prime Minister of a member state of the European Union with a full right to be respected by the European institutions as a representative of the government of Greece. Furthermore President Schulz stresses The European Parliament is open to all discussion, but negotiations must be based on mutual respect and trust.
