Leslie saw about a dozen birds at the bird bath. I looked out the window just as most flew away. It turned out to be a flock of Cedar Waxwings. I grabbed my stuff and sat on the patio for a while. A few came back and perched in the trees. After I went in, the whole flock made a swoop and then left again. Still, I got several good shots in with my 500mm, my sturdy tripod and a good bit of patience.
The red tips indicate the bird is 2 or more years old. This is a slight (maybe 1/4) crop of the original, done to move the bird off center and eliminate the bright sky at the top left of the original frame.
Critiques always welcome. Crop from upper left to eliminate a patch of bright sky and move the bird off-center. LR 5.7. Adjustment brush to lighten area around the eye and general Shadows adjustment to lighten the OOF tree behind.
