      personally i prefer not to 'experiment' with my primary lens... anyway auto-aperture, auto-focus will not work.

      I've kept my aperture open with a cut drinking straw wedged in the mechanism on the lens, you still have no proper control but you can get it fully open which helps.

      both!
      reverse lens has more magnification, but subject to camera distance is very short... sometimes its not possible to go that close to insects.

      you can set the aperture setting of the lens and camera by half depressing the shutter button then removing the lens and fitting the tube. Just don't fiddle with any setting after

      Hey sam, bought a new extension tube and close up filters when i was in india recently. Will post results soon.
