A Light! A Light!

Ah, that night Of all dark nights!
    And then a speck –
    A light! a light! a light! a light!
It grew, a starlit flag unfurled!
It grew to be Time's burst of dawn.
    He gained a world;
he gave that world Its grandest lesson:

      Thanks f824fps68 for visiting.

My father "Ka Rudy (photogeniks)" joined his creator last 20th February 2008. He was 67 years old born on 10 August 1940.

This is the last shot in his flickr page.

To remember "Ka Rudy" (photogeniks) . . .

I remember that he gave me my first Pentax SLR complete with a standard 50mm lens, a 300 zoom lens, a dedicated TTL Flash and a power winder. And then my Contax RTS II with Carl Zeiss lens.

I remember that he gave me my first pocket book, "How to win friends" by Dale Carnegie followed by another best selling pocket book, "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" also by Dale Carnegie.

I remember that he was very instrumental and supportive in all of my achievements in life: Ave Maria Award, Scout Citizen Award (Eagle Scout Award), Founder of UST Student Tourism Society, Past President of Mandaluyong Jaycees and many more.

I remember that when we had misunderstanding, he will send to my email a copy of the Desiderata.

I remember that he asked me to be at his UP Prep and Gamma events to take photos of the affair. By the way, he belongs to the University of the Philippines Preparatory High School Batch ’58 after his grade school at Ateneo de Manila.

I remember that he was a top notched in the 1968 Real Estate Brokers Exam.

I remember that he was a great thinker, full of wisdom, a poet, a writer, a painter and a photographer.

I remember that he was my drinking buddy, my mentor, my friend, my teacher and my father.

“Ka Rudy” has 10 grandchildren and 1 grandson.

What else can I say, “In every success and failure in a man’s life… there was a FATHER behind.

We will miss him but his photographs remains with us.
