Golden Tree

    Newer Older

I really had to work to get some reasonable photos to share over the past two days.

Unfortunately, this hot, dry Indian summer has turned what looked like a very promising season into something of a flop. :-(

It looks like November out there now ... very few bright colors left ... a lot of trees down, and many others are brown or brownish yellow.

There ARE still some trees out there that are totally green ... so I'm hoping if we get some rain and cold nights they may yet "pop" ... but right now things aren't lookin' so good.

This is from Dutton Shadyside Park ... some nice golden hues there, but none of the bright pastel colors I've found there in years past.

Lifeinthenorthwoods.com, Michigan Nut, and 5 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Nicely done. The colors here seem to be holding on for quite a long time. It's odd that some Maple trees have completely turned and lost their leaves, while others remain green.

Yes, I think last weekend was "the peak" here, too. So gorgeous. Love your autumn is upon us shots!

Wonderful picture! I just got back from a weekend trip to Ludington and I agree with your observation. There are some individual trees that have perfect color, but it seems that many have gone straight to brown. Same here in Mt. Pleasant.

I think you did a superb job here Chris. The woods are the same up here. No rain had the trees stressed, so the colors were really not that impressive, and the winds tooks the leaves down in a flash.

I took a shot almost exactly the same as this about exactly the same time. How weird is that? Don't they say, "Great minds think alike."
      Nice color and composition.
