Just playing around with some more smoke photography, trying to finally get it right this time. About half-way through the shoot I came up with a rather spiffing idea: Smoke photography is awesome, as is macro photography. What if I tried to take a few macro shots of smoke?
Turns out it is an excellent way of torturing yourself: Smoke, by its very nature, is extremely transient. When you're working with macro photography, your DOF is practically zero, so focusing on a constantly moving and evolving plume of smoke turned out to be a right royal nightmare. Turned out pretty good, though, I think!
Oh, and if you're curious, I did a tutorial of smoke photography a while back!
