Crystal Rainbow

I dissolved Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom salt) in water and deposited on a sheet of glass. Fresh crystals grew as it cooled.

I put a large polarizing sheet on the lightbox and used another CPL on the lens. Shooting macro via extension tubes to get a lovely close image of the crystalline structure in the polarized light, revealing the rainbow of colors.
