Moraine Lake Pano 01 PP000671

Newer Older

We had a great day last Friday at Moraine Lake. I was there with the family and Jocasta was kind enough to look after Oliver while I did some test shots for my Canadian Gigapixel Project. I took a 1.5Gpxl set which I haven't tried to merge yet, busy doing wedding stuff.
This is a crop from a 68mpxl version from 12 frames.

Microsoft DeepZoom version here.

    Stunning capture!

    Lovely! Did you shoot the foreground separately from the background?

  10. Phillip Norman Photography 43 months ago | reply

    @BoldPuppy:
    No I didn't shoot it seperately? I shot in manual focus and manual exposure modes, each frame having the exaxt same exposure. I *did* manually blend the sky from a set of -1EV files from the original raw set.
    Everything but the sky is from the same set of images?!

    Ok, then my response is "wow" ... amazing deep depth on this shot --- you can almost reach in there and sit on those branches in the front AND carve snow angels in the distant mountains there. Hats off to a wonderful image.

    Couldn't find a better spot for your project..... a magnificent place, that's for sure....

    Huh, you got a shot of the lake, mid-day without a bah-jillion canoes cluttering up Moraine...I'm somewhat shocked there wasn't any waterborne traffic.
