The Perfect Game!

Matt Cain throws his last of 125 pitches and completes the first perfect game in San Francisco Giants history and just the 22nd in MLB history. His 14 strikeouts tied Sandy Koufax for the most strikeouts thrown in a perfect game.

Nice shot! Can't believe you were there to witness it.

Great shot. I was lucky to take my camera to Buehrle's no-hitter in 2009 and start shooting from the first batter to the last. Put the camera down during the 9th inning action to make sure I saw it all (and missed taking a photo of what's called "The Catch."

Well done! They let you take a 200-400mm in there, or are you press?

John Papamarko John, I routinely take my 100-400mm to the Giants game. I open my bag, they say "nice camera" and I move on. I have taken it to 49ers games as well.

Lucky for you and a great photo! I just wish it hadn't been at the expense of my poor Astros!

Epic! What a capture. It felt like they won they world series!
  • Phil McGrew 3y

A-scape It really did. I went to game 1 of the world series and it was just as electric those last couple innings once everyone figured out what was on the line.

Wow! You were so lucky to be there and witness that. I thought I was lucky that I got to watch it on MLB.TV. I was checking my fantasy team roster before going to bed early and saw a red flashing light..."Cain perfect through 6!" I had to see that...especially since the Giants are my favorite team! So what if the alarm is set for 3:30 a.m.? I can sleep when I'm dead. I was glad I stayed up to watch him and the rest of the Giants (He couldn't have done it without them.) He was really in a focus zone. It was truly amazing to watch. Congrats on being there to catch these great photos, and thanks for sharing! GO GIANTS!
