Day 29/365 : Craters
Flickr EXPLORE February 18th #494
This photo was taken on 2/17/2011 in my front yard of my house in Oak Hill, Florida. I used my recently acquired remote shutter release for this shot to get as much detail as possible without any camera shake. This was taken with an 18-270 lens at the 270 end but with the focal length multiplier of my crop sensor camera it's really like having a 432mm lens at the long end. I like how you can see the craters and darker areas in this shot and I tried to bring out as much detail as possible without making it look too grainy.
Shot with my Canon EOS 40D, Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical IF Macro Zoom lens, and Shoot RC-300 remote shutter release mounted on my tripod. I shot it in Av mode set to f/8.0, spot metering, center AF point, ISO 100 and just took a series of about 16 shots selecting this as the sharpest straight out of the camera. Cropping and major editing were done in Lightroom 3 and I used Photoshop CS5 to bring out a little more detail.
