Life and Death (explored)

Demolition of a local FedEx office to make way for 100 houses. It appeared this sentinel Oak was spared by decree. But two days later -- it was gone. Dozens of beautiful Japanese Maples were destroyed.

This was once a great pastoral ranch on the slopes of the old Guadalupe Silver Mines -- at one time one of the richest mines in the US. Quicksilver -- from mercury used to process silver.

I have many friends who remember playing here as kids.
