MY HOSTESS, YOKOHAMA
Taken by my grandfather, Criss Barrington Gyford. Sometime in the early 1920s, as he was there for the 1923 earthquake.
I think her family name was Nishida. Her husband ran a shop, and "was a dealer in crockery and paintings".
The picture frame the photo was in broke, so I took the opportunity to scan it. I had to scan in two halves but they just about fit together OK.
