mini-rose PH 6-6-12 4
A miniature rose, cultivar unknown, seen in my parent's garden in San Francisco CA's Parkside district. Taken by a Nikon D40x at ISO 400 with a Nikon 18-55mm VR kit lens (at 55) Note bokeh: this exposure is 1/100 sec @ ƒ 25. (enough DOF for the rose, but not getting the background too sharp...)
This is about 2.5x life-size on my current monitor… and is somewhat less than an inch (25.4mm) across when I saw it live.
Yes, this plant is infected with blackspot - it's very hard to grow roses on the west side of the Twin Peaks in S.F. without the plant (of any size) being infected, due to the FOG (foghorn effect) ...
