tottenham court road

I sat outside on Tottenham Court Road, London, and sketched the street scene, with the BT Tower in the background. It was freezing cold, and my fingers were just about managing, but I had a new uni-pin fineliner pen from Paperchase and it worked a treat. It was fun; it was my first visit to Central London since coming back and I was in a phenomenally good mood. People stopped and chatted to me, all very friendly (not the London I remember!), I chatted back, explained about the hidden details of the often ignored buildings down here; it was nice. I finished it in under 45 minutes and went to meet my friend at Tottenham Court Road station for an afternoon of more sketching in Soho.

And wow! Half of the area was missing! The Astoria, LA2, all knocked down for the new Crossrail project (which I never thought would happen; well, it is happening) London is changing. Better get out there and draw it folks before they get knocked down for something else new.
