Carrying the Easter flame
At midnight on Easter Saturday in the Greek church, the Resurrection service is held. Labatha candles (special white candles) are used for the service. At midnight the priest annouces Christos Anesti (Christ is risen) and the eternal flame is passed from his candle from person to person until everyone has a lit candle. The flame is then taken home (carefully in the car!) to bless your house and light the candle on the table for the midnight feast!
