a hiding star - My Art Journal 2011-07-2 #039
a hiding star by Missy Poem
He hid for years,
I would see him through the window
Entering and leaving his house,
In and out, quickly,
And I wondered.
He was wearing a funny hat
And always preening himself like a woman,
Sometimes I was jealous
Of how feminine he looked.
I think he saw me looking
And he loved it.
The man from the window opposite
Would lock himself in his home,
He thought he was ugly,
But I …
I saw him shining like a star.
