First World War Postcard
Reposted to commemorate the centenary of the declaration of War between Great Britain and Germany.
One of two postcards found amongst my parent's artefacts showing my maternal grandfather with his mates. I have no dating evidence but believe this to be taken during the Great War. It's not been posted so there is no dating evidence available.
Handwritten on the rear of the card are "B Harry's 14 Hut" and the card is stamped "F. Holmes Photos, Mere, Wilts".
I have a scan of the back if anyone wants to see the original please contact me.
My Grandfather survived and served in the Second War as well. I wonder how many of the men in this picture fell?
