Shot almost a year to the day, an archive image from last year of the fantastic Stokksnes peninsula and Vestrahorn Mountain Range, I should actually be over there now but for reasons that are only too obvious I'm sat in my front room instead....

This location is one of my favourites in Iceland as you can get so many different types of shot here, you certainly aren't limited to one spot to shoot from, the only thing limiting you is your own imagination, and sometimes the very brutal weather, a nice amount of cloud present on the right had side at a similar level to the mountains helped balance this composition out.

Just a few minutes walk from this spot I had rtried to get some shots in the sands dunes this morning but the weather took a very violent turn for the worse and saw us being in the middle of a huge black sandstorm, the extremely strong winds whipping up the black sand and forcing it with real venom into your face, and basically anywhere else that it could get, not a hope of any images, in fact not a hope ofeven looking straight ahead, head down, and retreat to the car after a quick glimpse of what direction it was in. I'm still finding coarse black sand in my jacket even now.

You would never know the condtions looking at this image which depicts a calm looking morning and semi lively seascape, nothing to give a clue to the chaos that was unfolding a few mins walk away! An absolutely unforgiving Country weatherwise, and I really wish I was back in the middle of it all now.
