Physical Description: 1 oversized item: 20 x 23 in.

 

Summary: Consists of a map of the Atlantic coast from the Chesapeake Bay to Narragansett Bay including the Middle Atlantic States and Southern New England. The map provides details to the location of various Native American groups including the Pequot Indians. The map is virtually identical to Nicolaes Visscher’s map titled "Novi Belgii Novæque Angliæ" (MSS 146) held on site.

 

Notes: Includes views: Modus muniendi opud Mahikanseses (Mohegan villages); canoo, five Navicluse corticibus arborum (canoe); Navis exarboris trunco excavata (canoe); and Nieuw Amsterdam (New York City).
